Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Welcome to Day One Jams. These Terms are the agreement between you and Day One Jams for using our community and app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read the safety section carefully — jams happen in the real world.

Who can use Day One Jams

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Day One Jams is for first-time and beginner players. It’s intentionally not for professionals — please keep it a welcoming, low-pressure space for people just starting out.
  • You must complete verification (email, phone, and multi-factor) and keep your information accurate. One account per person.

Our community promise

Every member agrees to be kind, patient, and encouraging. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or making anyone feel unwelcome has no place here. We expect you to treat fellow beginners with the same warmth you’d want on your own day one.

Jams happen in the real world — safety and assumption of risk

Day One Jams helps verified members find each other and arrange jams, but the jams themselves are organized by members and take place in person at venues members choose. This is important:

  • We verify identities, but we do not supervise, control, or guarantee any member, jam, venue, or interaction.
  • You attend jams at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety. Use good judgment, meet in safe, welcoming spaces — never someone’s home — and never share your exact home address publicly.
  • We strongly encourage you to report anything that feels off and to block any member you’re not comfortable with.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, messages, and posts you create. You grant us a limited license to host and display that content within the service so the app can work. Don’t post anything unlawful, infringing, or that isn’t yours to share.

Things you agree not to do

  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm other members.
  • Misrepresent your experience to join — this space is for genuine beginners.
  • Share another person’s private information without consent.
  • Spam, solicit, or use the service for commercial promotion.
  • Break the law or encourage others to.

Suspension and termination

To protect the community, we may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or our community promise, or where we believe it’s necessary for members’ safety. You can stop using Day One Jams and delete your account at any time.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers — including Clerk for authentication and Supabase, Microsoft Azure, and SendGrid for infrastructure — to run the service. Your use of Day One Jams also depends on those services. See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that you’ll find a jam partner, that any jam will take place, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Day One Jams is not liable for the conduct of any member or for what happens at in-person jams, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves and will post the new “last updated” date. If changes are significant, we’ll let members know. Continuing to use Day One Jams means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
